I'm getting my own laptop. I'm so excited that I won't have to use this moldy ole' desktop I'm on. Got a Lenovo with 8GB of RAM and 1TB of Hard drive so I have plenty of room for my music, pictures and documents now. Windows 8, which will be a little difficult but fun to adapt to and the latest Intel iCore processor ..i7 I believe.
But the reason I'm so, so so, so, so, very much enthused about getting my own laptop is that I will FINALLY be able to start writing my book "Why Midnight?" without having to worry about my mom complaining that I'm using her laptop so much. I have so much I want to do with my story I don't know if it'll be just one book yet.
Also, I'm going to learn Spanish, then Italian, then French, then Latin, then Greek, then Gaelic, then German, then....well you get it. I love languages, it's so incredible to me how many different ways of communication there are that we all too often do not subject ourselves to. It'll take time but I'm hoping to learn maybe 15 different languages. I'm even thinking about sign language.
Also, I'm going on a diet, starting tomorrow. My mom bought an X-box 360 with Kinect with her financial aid money and we got a few different games. Michael Jackson Experience, Harry Potter, Kinect Training, Disneyland, Pixar Rush, and I have a few more on the way too. I just can't remember the specific names right now but they are all kinect games that involve exercise, except the Glee game. I'm just excited to get back into shape and start feeling good about myself.
So, I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but I got injured at my job. My neck and shoulders are messed up all to hell and have been for three months now, going on four. I haven't been to work since October 21st of last year. It's bugging me that it's taking me so long to recover because I really just want to get back to work right now. But I'm starting to be able to lift up to 10 pounds and that's awesome because I started with 2 pounds in physical therapy.
Once I'm back at work, probably part-time because of freaking Obama and his "Obamacare." Work has to provide us with health insurance when we are at full-time so therefore to save money the guy who owns the gas station I work at will probably be pulling us at part-time and I'll have to get a second part-time job here in the middle of NoWhere, USA. So I'll be an even busier woman then.
Oh, I went to Florida twice last year, once in June as a graduation present (finally graduated high school, at age 20) and fell in love with the area so my mom, little brother and I went in early October and my mom fell in love too so we are going to try and move their by the end of this year.
Also, it's 2013. Obviously. But 13 is my lucky number. It's my mom and dad's birthday date, the day I fund my dad online, the age that my life changed for good and bad and gosh...such a list. But nonetheless it is my lucky number so I believe I'm going to have a fantastic year. And a very lucky 21st birthday in Vegas! =D
I end here, as sitting on a stool is killing my back and shoulders and neck. And my physical therapist told me to try not to sit too long or stand too long. So until next time I leave with one of my favorite quotes by one of my favorite literary figures...
"The world is a great ocean, upon which we encounter more tempestuous storms than calms." - Edgar Allen Poe
A blog about things I think, do, are interested in, and just want to write about. I've been called a Gypsy many times, though I'm still not sure why except my clothing is a bit "Gypsyish," but it stuck. I am The Gypsy whose view you will peek into.

Harry Potter....Need a Title Say More Than That?
I have to write about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. My reasons...
1. Harry Potter is only one of the most incredible and MAGICAL experiences to ever grace this planet we call home.
2. Harry Potter and, by extension, J.K. Rowling is GENIUS!
3. Harry Potter has everything. Suspense, mystery, good vs. evil, betrayal, honor, loyalty, bravery, cowardliness, important of family, love, death, shock-factors, comedy, magic and a pureness and importance that will forever stay with this generation and every Harry Potter fan to ever live.
I could go on. I saw the film twice. Once on the first day it came out in 2D and then a couple days later in 3D (which was awesome since it was also the first time I'd ever seen a movie in 3D.) I cried each time during one particular scene and once (the first viewing) another. I DARE any reader to guess which scenes! I don't cry easily so that's my way of telling you that HpDhP2 has a real impact on even an unemotional person, such as myself.
There are two feelings of which I believe reside in every Harry Potter fan. Excitement and sadness. Excitement to see the final installment, to see how the cast and crew have managed to portray the last of the story that's captured and mesmerized many hearts and to see (if they've not read the books) who lives and who dies. Sadness because this means the end of the movies. Which is a tragedy that I believe cannot be escaped. Sure, when the last book came out all Harry Potter readers felt a sadness, but we had the movies going on too so it didn't really feel like it was ending.
But now, we have the last book portrayed in two movies and we come to the sudden, terrifying and sad realization that the world of Harry Potter is over in both book pages and the movie screen.
However, Harry Potter shall always be around in our minds, hearts, movie collections, public and personal libraries, fanfiction, movie prop replica collections and even on some people bodies....I've seen far too many lightening bolts on peoples foreheads and Dark Marks on forearms and a list of other Harry Potter related tattoos. Not to mention The World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando. Which I'm still dying to go to!
So while the story ends it always remains.
I've been a fan since the first book, I've read all seven books three times each, I have the sword of Godric Gryffindor, two original movie posters of the first two movies, all books and movies and a wicked purple Deathly Hallows hoodie with one Severus Snape on the back. And I'm still going to be collecting everything I can of Harry Potter. I'm that much of a proud neek (nerd/geek.)
Overall, the last film surpassed all my expectations and hopes.

New Age, New Body, New Plan!
19. A very insignificant number. However, that's how many years I'm proud and happy to say I've lived as of May the 21st. Woohoo! Just two more years until I'm 21...again WOOHOO! Now that is a significant number. Have I mentioned, ever, that I adore Vegas? Big flashy lights, a diversity of people....well I think most of them are people, and the hotels....the architecture...Gods, I'm already planning my stay at one of those many fabulously wonderful hotels. Back on track...
160. Another random number but significant to me because three months ago this number would of been 188. Confused yet?....Think of pounds....Weight...Getting there now?...Yes! I LOST 28 pounds. So I look much better and am still losing pounds. WoOt!
60. As in days. In 60 days, starting on June 1st or 7th I am going to spend 60 days writing. Hopefully I can write a novel or two before school starts again. And even more hopefully, I can get them published! But, I need to get a new desktop before I do this so that's why I'm a bit iffy on the start date.
1. A. Day. I want to TRY and write one most a day after school ends. Most difficult thing ever. Why? Because I don't have much of a life at all. I eat, go to school, browse the web, watch TV, dance and sing for a whole hour and then try my best to go to sleep. And since I've been sleeping 1-4 hours a night for the past two months, I read as if I won't live if I don't.
So, that's everything newness that's entered my life. Sad, no? Hopefully, I'll get some BIG newness. =)
Much peace and magic,
~GLA ♥

Twilight and New Moon- When Will It End?
November 18, 2009
Twilight. New Moon. Robert Pattinson. Kristan Stewart. Taylor Lautner. Bella and Jacob this, Edward that. When will it die down? I went into Hot Topic the other day and Heavens above! It was pack loaded with everything Twilight and New Moon. It was ridiculous. Now, I have nothing against the movies or books. Hell, I read each book in 8 hours in 4 days. I saw the movie when it came out on DVD cause I got it when it first came out. I loved the story and characters. But when you see stores with mostly nothing but Twilight stuff and hear people ALWAYS talking about the actors, the "Hot" characters and stuff...It gets old.
Now I can't wait to see New Moon. For five reasons- One, I love seeing books come to life on screen and comparing the two. Two, I want to see if the actors and actresses have strengthened their acting or if it's weakened. Three, it's a good twist in the story. I like the the author took away the beloved Edward for most of it and brought him back shortly. It gives some diversity in her writing and it gives the story better complications than the first book had. Four, I can't wait to see the new vampires from Italy. I can't wait to see which actors and actresses they used and how they've done with their characters. Five, I'm still a female so yes, I can't wait to see some hunky males with their shirts off. Sue me.
Now someone asked me what I thought of the books. It's a good story, but it could have been better. The "Vampires Sparkle" thing is just cheesy and too Hollywood for my taste. But it's someone's imagination and who am I to judge? The plot in each book was great, lots of turns and surprises, but none of the sharp turns that really take us by surprise and drop our jaws, well mine that is. (Remember this is my view, not anybody else's.) The characters need a bit work, I can only see some strengths and weaknesses, humans (and yes vampires as well) will always have more than three strengths and weaknesses. At least that's what I've observed. Each strength is reater than another but that's why we have so many. And it's the same with weaknesses. The characters are not as well devolved in personality either.
I personally think that the book Twilight was better than the movie. An from the looks of the New Moon trailer, I think I'll like the movie New Moon better than the book. But who knows? Now, I won't talk about the actors or actresses just yet because I'd rather not base their acting on just one movie. When I see New Moon, then I might talk about what I think because I'll have a more definite opinion. When all four are out though, I'll make my final verdict.
But like I said in the beginning- When will it die down? Twilight is fun and good, but it's not the best. When all four are down THEN it's the time to go all out til it's all done with. Give some other movies a chance. I don't see Transformers products or Harry Potter or any of the other brilliant movies out on the shelves, and to me those movies were much better than Twilight. But I do applaud Twilight and it's actors and crew for doing their best and making something of themselves and congratulations to them. (No I'm not being a sarcastic witch! I'm being honest)
I'm not "bashing" or "hating on" Twilight, New Moon, the movies actors or actresses, the crew or the author. I'm being honest and just letting my opinion out there. I do love the Twilight saga. I wouldn't have kept the books or bought the movie if I hadn't. If you don't like what I had to say about this, then close the window, tab or whatever your using and go to something else Hope your morning/afternoon/evening/night is enchanting.
Oh and if I didn't spell the Actors and Actress names right, please inform me, I'm too lazy to look it up. :)
